1 out of 5 stars Terrible tripod for video   March 25, 2010

This tripod is not smooth enough for video pan or tilt. It sticks and jerks very badly.
I took it all apart and changed the sticky silicone grease to white grease, sanded some of the rough parts smooth and I improved it greatly, but it is still junk as far as video goes.
Another thing FLUID HEAD? NO WAY! There is not a drop of fluid in the head.
I agree with the other reviewer that it would be fine for a still camera.

1 out of 5 stars Poor Quality Tripod   March 22, 2010

I don't understand all of the positive reviews this has gotten. Mine sticks when tilting, and the pan is ok but has rough spots. The tilting is unacceptable and I need to replace it. Cheetah Mounts has not responded to my emails. DON'T PURCHASE

5 out of 5 stars Ravelli AVT Tripod for Video Cam   March 20, 2010

Set up in minutes. Perfect for making my projects easier to produce. Would recommend.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome stand for the money!!!!   March 16, 2010
John A. Williams (USA)
Wow what can i say! This thing is a tank! Well made!!! I got it for my digital camera because i was tired of weak flimsy tripods that couldn't support my camera. My Camera weighs 4 pounds with lens and battery grip. So I am extremely happy! Its soooooo sturdy and well built. You will not be disappointed!

2 out of 5 stars not for video, maybe for still   March 11, 2010

the first thing i did not like, is that it comes without a manual or a handbook or a guide, for a novice user u will have a hard time figuring it out. and i could not find any resources on the net for it.

the second thing is fitting the head and making it pan without unscrewing it, is tricky, you actually need to tighten the knob to fit the head, and LOOSEN it to make pan.

panning and tilting is not smooth, no matter how hard i try.

the adjustment levers and the screw heads are limited in motion, u can not rotate them 360 if you have the handles installed, or the camera mounted, so you to pull the lever head out to unclutch then turn it, then release it a

it is however solid and stable. i say it as a tripod fit for photography and not for video
