Cheap solution for the amateur July 4, 2010 Xavier Cruise I bought this guy after a long research over the internet. I already dropped it once. It was closed and nothing happened but it is very light and feels fragile when it is fully opened. It can be use to point into, literally, any direction. Sometimes you can even use your creativity to take pictures from weird angles. I use it for city shots where ground is flat and I'd wouldn't recomend it for anything different. People complain as it is fragile. I just think that if you are careful with your camera, even more than with your wife... why not to do it with your tripod as well? :)
Beware Sharp Edges - Legs Different Lengths June 27, 2010 kp (PDX) I bought this at Walmart - and cut myself badly on it twice. Read the directions and twist the legs to open, tighten and close. One of the legs is shorter as someone else pointed out. True you get what you pay for but I did not expect to the sharp edges on the edge where the legs retract. I would take it traveling, hiking or biking where any tripod is better than no tripod.
Very good regardless of what others say. Once you know... April 29, 2010 B. Starr (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The tripod is actually very good for a almost any modern point and shoot camera. Not for use with big heavy SLR's.
- VERY compact and light weight. You can carry it anywhere even in your back pocket.
- When retracted the tripod acts like a nice handle making it easier to hold your compact camera.
- Just high enough to get the shots you want.
- Adjust to almost any angle even in difficult condition.
- Much, much better than asking a stranger to get a shot for you. Most people DO NOT know how to compose a picture.
I have taken this tripod on numerous trips and every single time it has done a wonderful job. Without it we would have had not been able to get the wonderful photos we have now. This tripod is relatively delicate but works well once you understand how to retract the legs. I almost broke mine the first time. Make sure you line up the grooves on the on the telescopic legs to the notch on the upper legs. If you use it on the beach make sure you wipe of the sand from the legs or it will get jammed. Over all, be gentle and it will work well.
travel trypod April 26, 2010 G. Iversen A small trypod to carry with. Light and convenient though not the most rigid of trypods it will serve the pupose for those occassional times you really need a steady support
Broke 1st time out September 3, 2009 RRB (Manassas, VA) Didn't even have it one day and one of the legs got stuck and I couldn't get it loose to put it back into its compressed storage position. Looks more impressive than it performs.
