| Customer Reviews: Great inexpensive option March 27, 2009 A. Saini This is a great tripod for amateurs who don't want to spend too much on a decent tripod. I am extremely happy I chose this tripod.
Excellent Value!!! December 28, 2008 R. Hume (Katy, TX USA) I purchased this over the summer for a trip I took. I wanted a light weight carbon tripod without the price tag of the big brand that you would normally think about. This is a well built tripod. Everything functions as it should and fits tightly. It is sturdy and I expect it will last for years to come. I would buy another in a heartbeat.
Excellent carbon-fiber tripod May 12, 2008 Mr. Ditto 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This has been a great tripod for me the past few years. The sturdiness and light weight makes it well worth the money. Good value compared to higher-priced carbon fiber tripods. The included 3-way pan/tilt head is very nice. I've taken this on my flights where it has been abused (just thrown in packed luggage with no padding), but it has held up fine.
The only features it lacks, which I do not miss at all, are quick-release and spiked legs.

Solid, steady, versatile, affordable. This is my first carbon fiber tripod. I got it with my first DSLR because I didn't feel comfortable with the thought of the heavier camera setup on my aluminum tripod. The final selling point for me was the price. I couldn't fit the Gitzo gear that all the pros raved about into my budget.
This price includes a head which makes the savings even greater. The head is heavy and a little sticky but solid as a rock. I know the pros recommend a ball head but the tri-plane is fine, though slower, and allows me to open up the horizontal plane and pan easily and shoot my 3 frames per second at a pack of passing cyclists.
The padded legs are nice for carrying it over the shoulder. The legs have a release that lets them splay out very wide to bring the camera close to the ground and shoot low angle macro or wide angle. The removable center post is essential to let the tripod get inches from the ground. The legs extend nicely and lock solidly; great for setup on uneven ground.
excellent tripod -- not a lot of money December 5, 2004 Christian Buhay (Houston, TX USA) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
The fit and finish of this tripod are excellent. Neoprene handles on each of the legs make it comfortable and easy to carry. The leg locks are flip-locks and the legs have markers to assure even extension in all three legs. Widening the leg base is easy and intuitive. The extension arm in the center column is removable -- further cutting down on the weight. The panhead is removable, allowing you to substitute your favorite ballhead. I like using the panhead because you can secure heavy items and movement is minimal. My only nit-pick is that I wish it came with a bubble level.
Overall the tripod is light and strudy. It has a weight limit or 25 lbs, so it should be able to handle the larger lenses. Near perfect for use in the field. It comes with a carrying case and rock bag. I strongly recommend this tripod to anyone who wants an excellent carbon fiber tripod without breaking the bank.
