Amazon.com Product Description The Manfrotto 190XPROB three-section tripod is ultra stable, flexible, and easy to use, making it a great choice for professional photographers everywhere. The tripod is distinguished by its Manfrotto-patented horizontal center column, which has been completely redesigned to create a more user-friendly feel. By extending the column to its highest vertical position, users can now swing the tripod round to horizontal without removing the head or disassembling the column itself. This makes switching between framing and positioning setups more convenient than ever. In addition, Manfrotto improved the ergonomics of the leg angle release mechanism and the quick-action leg locks, making it a breeze to open, position, and close the tripod in just a few seconds. The tension of the locking mechanism is even user-adjustable, so you can find the right tension for your comfort level. The tripod's unique design allows the photographer to use the center column horizontally as an extending arm or vertically (both right-way-up and upside-down). When used horizontally, the center column can be turned 360 degrees around the tripod, making it useful for macro work, low-angle shooting, extreme balance points, and off-center work. This also makes the tripod a helpful accessory for chair-bound photographers, who can sit beside the tripod instead of behind it, putting them much closer to the camera viewfinder. Should you need to balance the tripod on an uneven surface, you can set each of the legs to a different spread angle over the tripod's center of gravity--a must for nature shots on outdoor terrain. This also allows you to adjust the tripod to several different heights, with four preset independent leg angles and a spring-loaded step mechanism for extra stability. Specifications - Color: Black

Product Description Newly redesigned, the 190XPROB makes the famous Manfrotto-patented horizontal center column feature even easier to use. Now, by extending the column to its highest vertical position, it can be swung around to horizontal without removing the head or disassembling the column itself, so switching between framing and positioning setups is more convenient than ever. The ergonomics of the leg angle release mechanism and the quick action leg locks themselves have also been greatly improved.

Keeping Steady for the best shot! July 25, 2010 Kent M. Whitney (San Diego, CA) This tripod is well built, light weight, stable, good for back packing due to size and for the $$ value, "OUTSTANDING"! Operates completely as advertised with all pros no cons... All my other 3 tripods and 2 mono-pods are Manfrotto just because I think they are the best!! Why so many support tools?? I shoot in many types of settings, each requiring a specific weight and type of support tool and operating head from the studio to out and about, sports and back packing. Having the right Manfrotto support tools in photography, helps to make life and my shots that much better...
[...] LOVES IT! July 20, 2010 Nicholas D. Brainard This tripod is rock solid. Very easy to set up and take down, my old tripod used to pinch my had and make me bleed....I can happly say that I have not even come close to bleading with this tripod!
The one CON is that it is on the heavy side, I did expect that so its not a big deal but if you are looking for light weight, this aint it.
If you are looking for an amazing product for an affordable price this is it.

Great for travel. July 19, 2010 M. Brown (Connecticut, USA) I bought this tripod in combination with the Manfrotto 496RC2 Ball Head. While a carbon fiber tripod would have been slightly lighter, I felt the extra cost wasn't justified. This combination provides a lightweight, convenient, and secure tripod for travel. Highly recommended.
Perfect. July 11, 2010 M. Burch (Las Vegas, NV) The Perfect tripod for someone who wants quality for the best price possible. This tripod is wonderful. I have used it all over the country, Alaska, Pacific Coast Highway, Grand Canyon, Virginia, Colorado. I am fairly adventurous in my photography and will often go to places that most people consider too dangerous or difficult and this stand had stood up to everything. Also it holds my 50D with lens and flash if I need it without any problem whatsoever. I love this tripod it is high quality and a great price for the quality you get.
Well I HAD liked it.... April 10, 2010 M. Thebo 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For about two years I had really liked this tripod. Now, I plan to sell it after I fix it.
Its rated for 11 lbs??? I just broke two leg angle locks, these are cheap castings and should be machined aluminum, and I am not even sure how they broke. Either me wiggling it in some slush with my weak right hand did it, or else putting my 5 lb view camera on it. Nice that it didn't drop the camera, but that was only because of the rocky bottom of the creek bed holding the legs in place. To be clear, my 2 lbs Feisol has handled my cameras better and my right wrist is so weak I won't even lift a gallon jug with it... how could I possibly have broken TWO of these cheap castings at once without abusing it?
I really like the older Bogen tripods. The new stuff just is not built as well. I've had a couple of grand of gear on this thing... I can't do that again, I got lucky that I didn't loose a camera today.
