| Customer Reviews: Works great for me with Gitzo GT-1541T May 2, 2010 Marty S. (northeastern Maryland, USA) I am pleasantly surprised with how well this works for me with my Gitzo 1541T and PhotoClam PC-33NS head. Very comfortable and has held up well for last few months of hard use. Also tried it with a 2531 tripod and it is ok but the extra length of that tripod makes it a little less comfortable if walking around much. I don't think I'd bother trying a 3 series with it.
A little on the expensive side for what it is, but what do you expect from Gitzo! I thought about making my own based on a leather tool holster - but I'm glad I didn't waste my time.
Works well if you use it with a compact tripod.
Flimsy and cheap for the money October 25, 2009 Wayne 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product is made the cheapest it can be made. The belt clip is very flimsy and seems like the belt clip will snap and break with the tripod attached, if you're not very careful. I have a four section Manfrotto carbon fiber tripod which is very light. I've only used this product once with care and I had to remove the tripod head, because the weight seemed too much for the plastic belt clip to handle. The tripod has to be sort of strapped in to the holder half way up because the belt clip is so cheap. If I put the tripod with the head part at the top of the holster and let the rest of the tripod hand down it seems unsafe. Because if the tripod is pulled at an angle, the belt clip may snap and break. I wouldn't dare use this with heavy aluminum tripod. The belt clip will barely hold my compact carbon fiber without the head attached. This is a cheaply made product, but it's the only game in town, if you don't want to use a shoulder strap to carry your tripod. I don't understand for $40 why can't the make a heavier belt clip for only pennies more? After looking at this, you could make a superior belt holder yourself, if you want to spend the time. But for most of us, it isn't worth it.
