Product Description The GM5561T Traveler Monopod is the ultimate professional monopod. It combines extreme lightweight and compactness with the highest rigidity and pay load performance standards. It has been specifically developed for the sport photographer that requires a solid support for long lenses and yet compact and easy to carry and transport. It incorporates the latest Gitzo technologies, including Power Disc, G-Lock, 6X tubing, self locking removable foot and the exclusive belt clip to satisfy the carrying needs of every sport photographer. The Aluminum monopods range has been completely revised and now feature, apart from the tubing, the same features as the top of the range 6X carbon fiber monopods, in order to offer lighter, faster and a more stable support. All aluminum models now feature the latest aluminum tube, 30% lighter than its predecessor, with Anti Leg Rotation system (ALR), 1.2mm wall thickness and brushed matt black finish for improved locking performance and minimized reflectivity. Thanks to ALR and G-Lock, monopods are now incredibly fast to operate, providing a stronger locking and an increased rigidity by 20%.The aluminum monopods come with the exclusive Gitzo belt clip. This clip, incorporated in the wrist strap, is a smart carrying solution that allows to hang your monopod on belts or pockets. It is ideal when both hands are needed and you want to make sure not to loose your pro monopod. Another plus of the latest aluminum monopods is the high quality Power Disc for a more secure locking of the head thanks to the additional locking screw. Removable rubber feet are now self locking to avoid accidental loss. All monopods come with a convenient Gitzo display cleaner and a anti dust bag for storage and packing.

| Customer Reviews: The best Gitzo monopod June 9, 2010 John A. Fleming (New York, NY USA) Light, very light, small, easily fits in a camera or shoulder bag. You'll need to purchase a small ball head. Doesn't expand to 6' or more, but this is not a problem. Perfect for smaller cameras, including MFT (Micro Four Thirds); I don't believe it'll work properly with a pro (large) DSLR w/ heavy zoom lenses - you'd need a larger monopod for that. It's unobtrusive and gets the job done; I highly recommend it.

Nicely built, lightweight, good for traveling. It works well for me, but may not fit taller users.
It's a Nice Monopod August 8, 2009 S. E. Davis (USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The overall length is 14.2 inches and not the 19.7 inches that's indicated by Amazon. It also comes with it's own pouch. Fully extended it's very ridged and compressed it can be easily carried. I shoot with a Leica D-Lux 4 and this monopod is perfect for that size camera.
Perfect July 2, 2009 Randym 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This monopod suits my needs perfectly. I wanted one that was small enough to fit into a 16" bag (the limit for bags brought into pro baseball stadiums). I also wanted a monopod that folded up short enough to use sitting, with the monopod propped on the seat between my legs. This does the job.
It's very small and light, but sturdy. It holds my camera and long lens solidly. If you are really tall, have really heavy gear, or are the type who likes to lean on your monopod, this might be too small. But if you're looking a flyweight travel monopod, you'll be happy with this.

This monopod is a absolute must for everybody who travels with camcorder or photo gear and wants good results in stability
