Product Description
The Benro TRAB269 Travel Angel Magnesium Alloy Tripod with B-1 Ballhead is a professional-quality tripod that has lightweight, highest quality aluminum alloy legs for top performance at an economical price. In addition, magnesium is used for all die-cast parts. Despite its lower weight, magnesium is more rigid than aluminum, and has the same strength per volume. Travel Angel tripods are easy-to-carry so you’ll want them with you at all times. Travel Angel’s unique 180 degree foldover design allows them to be folded into a compact package that can easily fit into backpacks or luggage. However, when you need quick setup, excellent maximum height and a rigid, stable support, Benro Travel Angels are impressive performers Travel Angel tripods feature individual leg angle adjustments, anti-rotation leg design, a reversible center column with spring loaded weight hook, anti dust and moisture rubber leg lock grips, and reversible 1/4"-20 to 3/8" mounting threads. 4 out of 5 stars TRAB269 Travel Angel Tripod Kit   July 19, 2010

`This is a Benro product, part of the Benro-Induro operation. I bought it becomes it folds down to 13 inches, which is great for travelling. It is well made, and only 8 oz. heavier than the carbon fiber version. This is the heaviest-duty of the Travel Angels, and I have used it successfully with my D300 and 300mm F/4 lens.
I don't think that I would use it with anything much heavier. This tripod came with the Benro B-1 head, which is rated for 26.4 lbs., and has worked well. First generation Benro heads do not have a stellar reputation, but the newer ones (like on this tripod) seem to be well made. I have taken this tripod to Europe and China, and it has served me well. I recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars a very solid tripod!   May 30, 2010

This is a very solid tripod at a reasonable price (compared to carbon fiber). The only bad things are the size and weight are definitely noticeable. I bought it to hike with and shoot waterfalls. Maybe not so good for treks over 10 strenuous miles unless you're hard core. The ballhead is superb and the hook has become very handy! The tripod conveniently folds very short (the main reason I bought it). I couldn't find any other reasonably priced and solid tripod for it's "folded" size. I do wish setup and wrapup was faster, but you can't have it all. I didn't get the snaplocks because that would have made the tripod even bigger folded up and I couldn't loop it through my camelbak. If you want professional build that will get you those stable pictures/video and can deal with the weight, I would recommend this!

4 out of 5 stars Professional quality tripod seeks trips to far off lands!   February 5, 2010

I bought this tripod for Christmas for my husband who has everything. I saw an ad for the tripod in one of his many photography magazines. He is thrilled with it! Not only is it a professional quality tripod, (no spindly little legs that won't stay here!) but it is light weight and folds up very small for travel! This is a huge consideration now that airlines are trying to rip every dollar off of us with their bag fees! He has already used it many times, but we are planning on giving it a good workout in the mediterranean this summer!

This is an excelant travel pod. Easy to use, saports the equipment securely.Have tryed the carbon fiber unit, and found the tripod pod a bit unsteady when fully extended. The TRAB269 is heaver, but is a lot more steady when fully extended.

I would recommend this product.
For the price. It's a good deal.
