| Customer Reviews: Great with one minor flaw July 28, 2010 Bedazzeled (Chicago, IL) I've used this tripod head for about a month now. It works great, exactly as you would expect. The one minor flaw is if you do not use the single middle extension on your tripod the resistance lever on the side will hit the tripod base. It a bit annoying but you can usually find a way around it quickly. I believe this is caused by the fact that this head is so small and relatively short. And for the price you can't beat it!
El complemento July 22, 2010 Mazo (Medellin) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Does not fit standard Tripod mount July 11, 2010 KMOD 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a solidly built item, however the hole the tripod screws into at the bottom will not fit the standard tripod screw mount.
It is too big.
Apparently this mount is designed to fit a particular type tripod.
This was not made clear in the description.
If your camera will fit your tripod this item will not.
Your camera will fit the quick release mount.
As for quick release, that part works O.K. but try to remount the thing.
It takes a bit of effort.
And the this mount has quite a bit of weight to it.
It is solid cast metal.
It is easier just to unscrew the camera the regular way.
For me this was a useless item.
Small but works well June 7, 2010 Indiana Jones 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was looking for a small ball head for my Sigma DP1. I played with several ballheads in a local store, and picked this one for ~$35.00. It was actually the cheapest ball in the store. Mounted it on a Gitzo 1127, I got a most compact tripod set. It has been two years now. I have used it extensively for Sigma SD14 with 150mm Macro lense, Hasselblad with a very heavy 50mm f2.8 lense, and now a Sony A850 with 24-70mm f2.8 lense. No problem. It holds A850+24-70 off axis in arbitrary angle.
The reason I take away one star is because the locking knob (level) may contact the quick release clamp when the camera is in vertical position. I shaved the knonb slightly shorter to resolved this problem.
Good, but a little flimsy March 23, 2010 Heng Hu 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The ball head works really well. Although rated for 4 pounds, I have mounted my camera fully loaded 10 pounds++ and it seems to hold. Only fault I find is that the release is kind of flimsy but nothing that I can't deal with. For it's price, still a great product.
