love it July 11, 2010 Gatomon I'm a photography major student and have been experimenting with taking panoramas. I took a beautiful panorama of a location, but when I stitched it together, there was a very noticeable bend in a bridge that I had not foreseen. Since I purchased this product, however, I have taken several panoramas with no serious issues like that again. Thanks for the excellent level. I even conned my father-in-law, who is an amateur photographer himself, into getting one.
Level for Camera May 3, 2010 WENDORA (Westcoast) does just what it is for. 3 axis bubble level that slides into the hotshoe of your camera.
Good idea, but... February 17, 2010 C. Walle 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This level was purchased to assist in exact copy photography. It is a big help in the initial positioning of the camera, but due to a slight wobble in the fit, for the final adjustments I need to use an additional level. This is a bit irritating. Overall it's okay for the price.
Good enough! February 12, 2010 LygerTail (SAN FRANCISCO) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
If your looking for a technically accurate level, this isn't it. If your looking for a good point of reference, this is it. I always trust my eye over any tool so this works fine for me. I use a Nikon D70s, D90, and a few film cameras and it fits tight on all of them except my older Nikon N8008.
After a few uses you learn to adjust for its slight inaccuracy. Valuable for the price. Test it first.
CONS:
- one of the two horizontal axises is NOT accurate.
- Fits tightly on all my Nikon cameras.
PROS:
- Price. under $10 with shipping
- Despite the drawbacks, it is accurate.
- Fast delivery.
[purchased 2/9/10* paid $2.00 + 6.00 s+h = $8.00]
Not stable front to back on my Canon 40D January 25, 2010 L. Aurich 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I just purchased this level to replace a $25 level that I lost in Death Valley. Unfortunately, this level is loose in the hot shoe on my Canon 40D. Applying any pressure to the level causes it to shift forward or back along the lens axis; either position seems stable. This interferes with getting the camera level in three dimensions. Also, the bottom surface of the level has a small lump of plastic in the center that prevents the level from indicating a correct reading when placed on a table top.
