Product Description This is a professional muslin backdrop made from a heavier 100% cotton material. The 10X20' size (actually about 9X18' after shrinkage) weighs 5.7lbs. The 10x20' size units also come with a black carry bag to protect your backdrop from dust and stains between uses. The carry bag includes a color window to identify the color of the backdrop inside. Prism premium cotton muslin backdrops are offered in three standard sizes:10X20' (actually 9X18', 5.7lbs) 10X12' (actually 9X10.8', 3.8lbs) 6X10' (actually 5.7X9', 1.9lbs) Special dyes are used to obtain well saturated colors which appear vibrant and not washed out. All sides are stitched to avoid unraveling and a 3.4" rod pocket is sewn into the top. Each muslin is folded and comes in a plastic bag to avoid moisture and stainage and then each bag is packed in a cardboard box for shipping.

A very nice value for the price! April 27, 2010 J. Rios (So. Cal) I purchased this item about a month ago and, after some 4 shoots with it, must say that I'm very pleased. Since I do my photoshoots in a 2 car garage the size is just perfect for it -- not too long and not too short. I should note, however, that the size is not actually 10x20. It's more like 9x18. The quality is actually better than I expected. There were a few loose threads but nothing more than that. It's a little on the thin side but unless you have a light source behind it, it's not a problem at all. In fact, it allows the background to be moved around much easier and takes up less space in the washer. As with all dark colored dye backdrops, I do recommend you wash it at least once before using for the first time.
When storing it, I crunch it up in a top open bag. The wrinkles that come from crunching it really don't show up much and a few times when it does, it actually adds character to the background. Muslins backdrops should not be compared to paper anymore than apples should be compared to oranges. They each have their own attributes. Having used both paper and muslin, however, I'm actually beginning to favor muslin due to the ease of storage and setting up. Muslin is extremely forgiving when setting up as opposed to the 9ftx12yds. paper rolls which can easily get out of hand, but as I said before they both have their advantages. Anyways, I highly recommend this product. You get alot of bang for your buck.
good quality backdrop, reasonable price April 6, 2010 Peter E. Safir (charlotte, NC United States) I needed a black and a white large backdrop for portrait photography assignment. These were fine but unfortunately they sent me two black with expedited shipping. after a couple of phone calls they sent the white backdrop and asked me to return the black and refunded the expedited shipping charges. a reasonable conclusion. the backdrops are good quality, large 10x20' and reasonably priced
SimoneJones March 30, 2010 Simone Jones I was very pleased when I received this item....
It was very large, and I felt secure in the material.
It also comes with a loop at the end so that you can
easily put it on your backdrop stand. Very convenient...THANKS!
More than just a piece of fabric January 21, 2010 T. Hunsaker (Phoenix, AZ) This here backdrop means business, sure some may say that it is just a piece of cloth, but I say that it is more than a piece of simple material. This cloth allows you to setup a beautiful backdrop for all types of portrait photography, provided you have the accompanying backdrop stand. The muslin is not so thick as to block out all light, if you have a window behind it, you'll get a lot of light, but if you shoot at night or have an adequate lighting/flash setup, you shouldn't have an issue. Highly recommended for those looking for an economical back drop to get started with portrait photography. May I also recommend a 10' x 20' portable backdrop stand to use this with.
Size matters... November 20, 2009 bdgilfry@wildchildpublishing.com (California) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This item is advertised as being 20 feet by 10 feet. Even if you deduct the 4 or 5 inches used to construct the pocket that runs across one of the 'ten-foot' ends, you still do not come close to 20 feet.
Because of other reviews stating the same thing, I measured this drop as soon as it arrived. It is 9 feet wide and 18 feet long. If proper size is critical for your studio, look elsewhere.
The material feels sturdy and is definitely black black, but will transmit light (very little light if doubled, however). The backdrop without the bag weighs six pounds. The material has visible strands of white thread running through it in places.
Basically, I am using this to darken the studio and to be a background behind the shooting backdrops. I am satisfied with the product for that purpose.
